Returning Students

Returning Student Information

We are so excited to begin the 2022-23 school year!   The first day of school is just around the corner and the first day is August 18th, 2022.   Students need to arrive each morning by 7:45.  Students are to be dropped off at the back parking lot by the sidewalk.  Student drivers will be directed to park in a specific area.  Students are to be picked up at the same place at 3:15.  There will be staff members outside to direct cars into two lines to wait for and then pick up their student.

Do you know some good candidates to join our school family?  We are holding two meetings for interested parents/students to tell them about The Ranch Academy and what it is like to be a Phoenix.  If you do refer any new students who enroll with us, you will receive a $25 gift card for each referral.  The meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, August 9th at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m.   Make sure they tell us that you sent them!  If they cannot make either of those appointments, they may call to schedule an appointment with Mr. Blair to discuss enrollment.

All returning students must fill out a new enrollment packet each year.
Packets are available at: https://www.raschools.com/enroll

Please make sure you re-enroll no later than Friday, August 12th.  If your student is not returning to The Ranch Academy, please let us know as soon as possible.  Their new school will request records directly from us via the online records system for Texas schools. Students will receive their schedules and their computers on the first day of school.

Please send us your referrals for new students and let us know if we can do anything else for you.

Reminders for this Year

Arrive daily by 7:45 and leave daily at 3:15.  We expect students to be on time each day and to be picked up in a timely manner as well.  If there is some emergency or issue, please call us to let us know what is going on.   Please follow staff instructions at pick up time to line up and then be dismissed as your child gets into the car.  Our staff works very hard to have a safe and orderly dismissal. The process only takes a few minutes each day to clear out the entire campus so please bear with us the first few days as we get everyone used to the routine.

Student drivers must provide the school with their driver’s license and show a copy of their auto insurance.  Students must drive safely and without loud music on school property. Violations of this can result in the loss of privileges to drive to school.

School supplies:  Pen/pencils, spiral notebooks for taking notes, a pair of wired ear buds (no blue tooth ear buds allowed).  Students are not allowed to carry backpacks around campus.  If they bring them to school, they will be leaving them in a storage spot for the day.  Girls may carry a small purse but it cannot be similar to a backpack or overly large.

Dress code:

Acceptable – jeans, sweatpants, hoodies, t-shirts, shorts, dresses

Not Allowed -  jeans with major holes in them (skin showing), extremely short clothing (shorts, dresses and skirts must be mid-thigh length), spaghetti straps, crop tops, shirts with inappropriate logos, pictures or words that refer to any sexuality, drugs or alcohol, no hats at school (this means any hats) – leave them at home.  If girls wear yoga pants or leggings, they must wear a longer shirt that covers their entire backside – no exceptions. Students may change for P.E. if they choose to do so.   It is recommended that students in P.E. bring a pair of tennis shoes to school to change into for P.E. class.

If in doubt, do not wear it – if you are unsure about whether something is allowed at school or not, the best idea is not to wear it at all.

Piercings – no facial piercings or tongue piercings allowed.  Ears only may be pierced.  Any student wearing facial or mouth jewelry will be asked to remove it and it will be thrown away. Parents, please discuss with your child and check them daily before they get out of the car each day.

Hair – hair style and color is flexible as long as it does not cause a safety issue or disrupt the classroom environment.

Lunch – you will fill out paperwork in the enrollment packet that will help us determine your lunch rate.  You will be notified if your child/children are free, reduced or full fee for lunch.  Full fee is $3 per day and reduced is $1.75.   You may pay by cash, check or credit card.  We will make sure your child has access to a hot meal daily but we do expect regular payments on their lunch account, at least monthly.  We do have a snack bar and soda vending machine.  Your child must pay cash up front for items from the snack bar or soda machine.  We will not be extending credit in their lunch account for those items.  Monies paid up front for their lunch account will only be used for their actual lunches only.

Breakfast- We do not provide a full breakfast for students but we do have light breakfast items available for purchase such as granola or breakfast bars.  Again, students must pay at the time of purchase for those items.  Students will not be allowed to take any breakfast items to class with them.

Food – students are not allowed to eat food in class.  They are also not allowed to drink anything but water during class.  They may bring a water bottle or a clear, plastic water cup with a lid to have in class.  Students are not allowed to bring any energy drinks on campus.  Please make sure these stay at home or in the car when you drop them off.
